HOW FAR CAN OUR GRAB LORRIES REACH?

Our grab lorries have a reach of 5.5m from the side of the lorry. (7m from the centre). However it is advised to keep all of the muck to be collected within a 3.5 metres reach of the lorry. This allows us to pick up any heavier items within the load. To operate properly, the trucks also need 3.8m of headroom and 2m for the hydraulic arm to operate in. In total, you need 6m of space/ height for optimum operations.

FAQs

What type of material will you take away?

We can clear most things from brick rubble to muck. Our typical loads are mixed soil and hardcore from a garden, driveway or building site. Unfortunately we cannot accept green waste, this includes trees, shrubs, wood, brambles and roots. We can still clear them for you, but these will be charged on a different basis to our standard inert grab service.

Can you grab over a wall, fence or hedge?

Yes, as long as our grab lorry is able to get within a couple of meters of the obstacle, we should be able to grab over it. Our experienced grab operators will be able to tell you immediately if it is possible. However, if you have a site or situation you are not sure about, give us a call and we will arrange for a member of our team to take a look and offer you the best solution. We can also grab aggregates in to a site over a fence, which offers huge time savings and reduces manual labour cost.

Can I hire an operated Grab Lorry for a day?

We do offer day rates for our grabs and tippers. If you are interest please call our transport team to discuss the options available. Sometimes however, this may not be your most cost effective solution.
